Chance Encounter

Quick story:
I bumped into a former co-worker at Panera the other day. She asked me what I was doing now (probably expecting to hear about my adventures in corporate America) and when I told her I helped people make their dream of being an author come true, she started spontaneously crying. Right there in the Panera line, middle of the day! She told me she had always wanted to write a book – that she knew there was a book inside her. And that she sometimes felt guilty for not writing it. She is actually Christian and told me she felt called by God to write her book but with work and kids, she kept turning away from it – denying her true self.

I asked what she had done to make her book happen. Had she written some of it already? Outlined it with a friend? Thought through what the cover would look like or what the title would be? Joined a writer’s group? Surely something that kept her so close to tears had to have some energy behind it.

Sheepishly she admitted, she had done nothing. NOTHING! Not a single thing except wish it.

“Oh,” she said, “there is a small picture of a typewriter on a vision board I did once that represents my book. Not sure where that went after the move though.”

I took her by both hands, looked deeply in her eyes, and told her this:
You were born to write a book sweetheart, but that doesn’t mean you were born knowing how to do it. You are already on your book journey. The question is, how long do you want to wait until you reach the destination of holding your book in your hands. If you want to fulfill your promise to yourself and get their sooner, you need help – maybe it’s a writers group, a friend, a coach, or someone like me – but there is no shame in not knowing how to get this done. You are not alone.”

As you may have heard, I closed enrollment for my Free Your Inner Author program last night, but good news for you – there are still 3 unclaimed seats. I’m keeping enrollment open a little longer to fill those slots. Maybe you are like my old work friend and it’s time to make an investment into making your book dream a reality.

I wanted to make it easier for people to join so I broke down the key program components. To put it in perspective for you, the value of the entire program is $2949 but I’m making it available for $1297. You save well over 50% when you buy the package.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • 2 tickets to a live 3-day intensive writer’s workshop in your choice of cities – Washington D.C. September 26-28 or Santa Barbara, CA October 12-14. Value $1152 – your charge $576 (50% off)
  • 6 pre-recorded classes & related worksheets giving you everything you need to get focused and get writing – Value $597 – Your charge $397 (34% off)
  • 12 months of small group coaching – live on the last Friday of each month at 12:30 ET – Value $1200 – Your charge $324 (73% off)

And because I want to fill these last 3 slots, I’m going to offer 3 one-on-one coaching sessions with me – that’s a value of $750 at no charge as my way of saying thank you. That’s a savings of 65%.

But if you don’t want to buy the whole package, you can buy any of the major pieces of the program separately by simple hitting reply, telling me what you’d like to purchase and I’ll send an invoice and make sure you have everything you need.

Here’s the menu again:

  • 2 tickets to 3-day workshop – $576
  • FYIA online course/homework – $397
  • 12 months of small group coaching – $324

Hope to see you taking steps to make your book dream come true.
